As with the HEAD Intelligence i.Prestige, the Flexpoint Prestige line offers three models to choose from: a standard length 93 Midsize, a standard length 98 Midplus and fans of longer racquets will be pleased to see the return of an extended (XL) 98 Midplus version. The Flexpoint Prestige racquets feature HEAD's Flexpoint technology which is designed to cup the ball for better directional control and feel. As with other Flexpoint racquets, the new Prestige racquets also feature Liquidmetal and Total Sweetspot Construction. As with previous Prestige racquets, the HEAD C.A.P. (Computer Aided Protection) grommet system is present, albeit slightly modified to incorporate the Flexpoint System.
Mid
Players familiar with the Classic, Intelligence and Liquidmetal versions of the Prestige line will notice a crisper and stiffer response from this latest Prestige offering. While the emphasis is still heavily on control, we found some extra power from the Flexpoint Prestige Mid from all areas of the court. From the baseline we found this one to provide some added depth and pace to both topspin and slice groundstrokes. A similar weight, balance, and swingweight provide a familiar feel when swinging this one compared to previous versions. The similar spec means this one retains its classic solid response and mobility. The feel off the stringbed is not as buttery as found with the Prestige Classic, but the racquet offers more stability on off-center shots and a more solid feel than we found with the Liquidmetal Prestige. As with other Prestige Mids, this is the most demanding racquet in the HEAD line-up but rewards with more control and feel than most player's racquets. All in all, the weight and headsize combine to put this one in the serious player's racquet category. In the hands of advanced 5.0 to pro level players with fast, full swings, this racquet can be the perfect match.
